What can we learn about current industry standards from this year’s winners?

HIA–CSR Australian Home of the Year & HIA Australian Custom Built Home 2017
Winner of home of the year, and custom built home, Spadaccini Homes combined a contemporary, luxurious, and sleek style with the warmth and comfort of a family home. This build offered a variety of facilities and features, which were all delivered with quality workmanship. Incorporating energy efficiency and innovative technology, Spadaccini Homes has a lot to be proud of. Mr Spadaccini was cited as saying, “I’m very fortunate to have a trade and supplier base that support me and the industry”. He emphasises the importance of having a knowledgeable, reliable, and familiar trade base to help execute an award winning build.

HIA Australian Outdoor Project 2017
HIA winner for Australian outdoor project Wabnitz, presented a spacious entertaining area with impressive and decadent custom facilities. Wabnitz incorporate quality materials, a unique delivery, and contemporary design, all with city and sea views in the backdrop.

HIA Jim Brookes Australian Apprentice 2017
Justifying the necessity of a capable apprentice, James Thompson’s leadership and communication skills set him apart from the rest. Mentoring new apprentices himself and acting as an apprentice ambassador in Canada, his award was well-merited.
