NSW Changes to Home Warranty Insurance
Effective 1 October 2010

Background
From 1 July 2010, the NSW State Government through the NSW Self Insurance Corporation (SiCorp) has taken over as the single Insurer for the provision of Home Warranty Insurance cover in NSW.

QBE Insurance has been appointed as an agent of SiCorp.

For existing clients of HIA Insurance Services (HIAIS), if you currently have Eligibility with QBE, then this will not change.

If you currently have Eligibility with Vero, we have arranged for QBE to provide automatic Eligibility and we will transition you to the new arrangements with QBE effective from 1 October 2010.

Our role as your Broker has not changed.

Changes
SiCorp has announced a new premium structure that will come into effect from 1 October 2010.

HIAIS has simplified the process for you.  The new premium schedule can be found here. (For project applications submitted and received by HIA Insurance Services on or prior to 30 June 2011.)
